About Electric Horizon
Electric Horizon — edition 2026
Festival Day August 15th, 2026
The single festival day in 2026 begins on Saturday, August 15th, at 11:00 AM with entry at Weldegarten, Brauereistraße 1, in Plankstadt. Over 20 DJs will be spread across three floors, with the spectrum ranging from Hardtechno and Techno on the main floor, Trance on the second floor, to 90s Classics on the third floor — an ideal hit rate for rave veterans who grew up with "Children" by Robert Miles, as well as for young Hardgroove fans.
The complete DJ lineup for 2026 will be released by Basement Schwetzingen on electric-horizon.com and rausgegangen.de in early summer. So far confirmed: 30+ artists on 3 floors, 10 hours of playtime, official afterparty immediately afterwards.

Open-Air Electronics in the Brewery Courtyard
Plankstadt is a municipality with around 10,000 inhabitants in the Rhein-Neckar district (state of Baden-Württemberg), located on the western outskirts of Heidelberg between Schwetzingen and Mannheim. The Weldegarten is a historic brewery complex at Brauereistraße 1 — today a venue for larger open-air festivals in the Rhein-Neckar metropolitan region. Once every summer, the Basement Club Schwetzingen takes over the grounds and transforms it into the Electric Horizon Festival.
Three Floors of Electronic Music
Spread across several floors — according to the organizers, three floors, though sometimes described as four in marketing materials — over 20 DJs play a program ranging from Hardtechno, Techno, and Trance to a dedicated 90s Classic Floor. The spectrum thus ranges from the harder BPM range (Hardtechno, Hard-Trance) to the classic 90s Eurodance and rave hits that are particularly popular in the Rhein-Neckar region.
Festival Atmosphere with a Summer Beach
The organizers deliberately stage the festival as a summer festival with a beach atmosphere: palm trees, sandy areas, chill-out zones with seating and hammocks complement the dance floors. Slush cocktails, food stalls, and tattoo artists on-site have become trademarks — a mix of festival, beach party, and subculture event. Following the main festival, an official afterparty takes place at a separate location (often at Basement Schwetzingen itself).
One-Day Concept
The Electric Horizon Festival is conceptually a one-day festival with long playing hours — the floors run from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, which is the maximum of 10 hours while strictly adhering to noise regulations. Those who want to party longer can head to the afterparty. The festival is accessible exclusively to individuals aged 18 and over (strict entry with ID check, no exceptions).
In the Rhein-Neckar Context
With the Rhein-Neckar metropolitan region (Heidelberg, Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, approx. 2.4 million inhabitants) in the background, Electric Horizon has a strong core target audience — the student and subculture scene of the region. The organizer is Basement Schwetzingen, one of the most important underground clubs in the Rhein-Neckar area, complemented by its own branding, Electric Horizon Festival Schwetzingen.
