As in previous years, the Eisleber Weihnachtsmarkt is expected to open in early December 2026 and run until December 22nd. Around 20 stalls on the market square, a children's carousel, the Polar Express, and the usual regional offerings.

The 2026 program continues the successful concept: daily market operations with mulled wine, bratwurst, roasted almonds, and gingerbread. Weekend stage program with choirs and brass bands from Mansfelder Land. Exact opening and closing dates will be published in autumn 2026 by the municipal market operator Eigenbetrieb Märkte der Lutherstadt Eisleben on wiesenmarkt.de.

Getting There

Train: Lutherstadt Eisleben Hbf, 10-minute walk to the market square. By car via the A38 (Eisleben exit), paid parking around the city center.

Lutherstadt Eisleben has two famous market days: the large Wiesenmarkt in September — and its smaller, quieter brother in December, the Eisleber Weihnachtsmarkt. The historic market square, which Luther himself passed by in his youth, is bathed in warm light for three weeks. Around 20 stalls, a central Christmas tree, and the old town hall as a backdrop — that's all it takes to get into the festive spirit.

Families will find plenty here: a children's carousel with themed vehicles (fire truck, police car, truck, race car), the Polar Express circles the large Christmas tree, and duck fishing and grabber machines bring joy to children. Adults can enjoy mulled wine, eggnog, mulled beer, or, more recently, O'Donnell Moonshine cocktails. Eisleben is part of the Mansfeld-Südharz district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt — a region that cultivates a rich identity with its Reformation history and mining heritage.
