Festung Mark as Magdeburg's Festival Venue

Festung Mark is one of Magdeburg's most important alternative cultural centers—a former 19th-century fortress, now a venue for concerts, open-air parties, theater, and community events. Rave Classics within Historic Walls

The "Ein Tages Open Air" on May 30, 2026, is dedicated entirely to the rave and techno classics of the 90s. This was the decade that saw DDR techno evolve into the Berlin Love Parade and Frankfurt's Sound Of Frankfurt emerge—the decade when Magdeburg developed its own techno scene. Headliner is Hardy Hard, one of the defining producers of that era. Also performing are Clayde, JayKosy, Senil mit Stil, and DJ Sunshine—a mix of established names and regional acts. The event runs as a day festival from 2 PM to 10 PM (not purely a late-night party), allowing the open-air atmosphere to fully unfold.

Magdeburg and Electronic Music

While the state capital wasn't the Berlin techno mecca in the 90s, clubs like Buster Cabaret and promoters like Highmoon fostered a distinct scene. Today, Festung Mark keeps the alternative tradition alive with concerts and parties. "Ein Tages Open Air," featuring B.B.E.
