Ehrenfeld XL — Cologne Club Festival

One wristband, ten clubs, one night

Ehrenfeld XL is Cologne's most ambitious club festival – the idea is simple and brilliant: a single wristband (€25) grants you entry to around ten clubs and 18 dance floors in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and the neighboring Belgisches Viertel, from 10 PM Saturday night into Sunday morning. Over 60 DJs and live acts play simultaneously – from internationally sought-after headliners to local resident DJs.

The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, March 28. The official platforms clearly communicate the date (RA / Resident Advisor, the festival website, and Köln Tourismus). Ehrenfeld XL has become a firm fixture in the city's spring calendar in recent years – a kind of urban warm-up for the upcoming summer festival season.

Genres – broad spectrum, high proportion of Techno

The musical breadth is one of its hallmarks: Techno (the dominant pillar, from Hardgroove to Industrial to Melodic), House, Drum & Bass, and – as a newer pillar in recent editions – Amapiano. Ehrenfeld XL thus consciously positions itself between festival pros (Sonar, Awakenings) and club-goers who appreciate the intimate atmosphere of the Cologne scene.

Clubs and Floors

Established Cologne clubs in Ehrenfeld and Belgisches Viertel are involved – varying slightly each year. Recurring venues include Bumann & Sohn, Bootshaus (Ehrenfeld is right on the Rhine promenade), Heinz Gaul, Ohm Bar, Yuca, Tsunami Club, and Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld. The exact list of 10 clubs and the lineup for each stage will be communicated via the official website and Resident Advisor.

Logistics – Shuttle and Routing

Shuttle buses run between the venues – Ehrenfeld and Belgisches Viertel are about 3 km apart, a 20–30 minute walk, or faster by KVB (subway lines 3, 4) or train. The wristband serves as both an entry ticket and a 'city card' for the floors. Recommendation: study the app/map before the festival and prioritize 3–4 clubs in your route plan – you won't be able to experience everything.

Cologne-Ehrenfeld – the Veedel

Cologne-Ehrenfeld has developed into the city's creative hotspot over the last 15 years – with galleries, street food, creative agencies, and one of the highest densities of clubs in Germany. The festival is also a tribute to this 'Veedel' (neighborhood): it showcases how much live music infrastructure Cologne offers in such a small area.
