Droyßig — Castle village in the Burgenlandkreis
Droyßig is a small municipality in the southern Burgenlandkreis (AGS 15084), Saxony-Anhalt, near the border with Thuringia. The landmark is Droyßig Castle with its castle park, a Baroque complex that is now used by the municipality and the Kulturverein Gemeinde Droyßig e.V. (Droyßig Community Cultural Association). Once a year in October, the castle park transforms into a market for regional products and traditional crafts.
Market as an Autumn Kick-off
The concept is clear: farmers from the Burgenlandkreis and surrounding regions sell fresh vegetables, fruit, honey, cheese, sausage, and preserves. Craftsmen demonstrate their work in open workshops — basket weaving, pottery, blacksmithing, weaving. Food stalls offer regional specialties, mulled wine and punch, coffee and cake. Children's play areas in the castle park, a petting zoo, face painting.

By car via the A9 (Berlin–Munich), exit Bad Dürrenberg or Naumburg, then drive to the castle village. Public transport via the Burgenlandbahn from Naumburg or Zeitz. Parking available in the municipality, a five-minute walk from the car to the castle park.
