Marwitz – Hedwig Bollhagen Pottery
Marwitz holds a special significance in German ceramics history: it is home to the HB Workshops for Ceramics, founded in 1934 by Hedwig Bollhagen (1907–2001). The workshops continue to produce the iconic BTS series (Bollhagen Pottery Disc Style) to this day, which is represented in the collection of the Berlin Museum of Decorative Arts and many other museums. Marwitz is thus one of Brandenburg's most important pottery centers.
Oberkrämer – Municipality of Four Districts
The municipality of Oberkrämer (Oberhavel district) was formed in 2003 from the merger of four formerly independent villages: Bötzow, Eichstädt, Marwitz, and Schwante. With a total population of around 7,500, it lies in the commuter belt northwest of Berlin. Marwitz stretches from the Tegeler Fließ valley to the A10 motorway.
Getting There
The best way to get there is via the A10 (Berliner Ring), exit Oberkrämer, then take the L17 towards Schwante/Marwitz. Parking is available around the village green; traffic management will be in place during the festival. By public transport: Bus 824 from Velten (S-Bahn S1 from Berlin).
