Hollingstedt in the Dithmarschen Marsh

There are two Hollingstedts in Schleswig-Holstein: one in the Amt Arensharde (district of Schleswig-Flensburg), and a second one in the Dithmarschen marsh (district of Dithmarschen). This village festival is dedicated to the marsh variant — the small municipality of Hollingstedt in the Dithmarschen district, located between Heide and the Eider river, in a landscape shaped by Dithmarschen's tradition of cabbage cultivation.
