Musik- und Schützenverein Aretsried
The Musikverein Aretsried is a traditional Swabian brass band that plays at early morning concerts, processions, folk festivals, and village festivals in the region throughout the year. In 2026, the band will perform in Friedberg (Volksfest August 9) and at the Augsburger Plärrer (end of August/beginning of September), among other places. The Schützenverein Aretsried is part of the regional shooting tradition of Southern Germany. The village festival is the most important event of the year for both clubs.
Fischach and the Stauden
The market town of Fischach (around 4,500 inhabitants) is located in the Augsburg district in the Western Forests. The region — Stauden — is known as a quiet, forest-rich hiking area, with small districts like Aretsried, Heimberg, Willmatshofen, Mickhausen-Wald. Aretsried and Heimberg are managed as a pair of districts, and the parish community comprises several places. The village festival is an occasion that brings together residents and guests from the surrounding Stauden villages.
