Community Festival in the Hörsel Valley
The Dorf- und Kinderfest Reichenbach is one of the central summer festivals in the Hörsel Valley — organized by the Ortschaft Reichenbach, a district of the Hörselberg-Hainich municipality in the Wartburgkreis. In 2026, the festival will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026 — from 2:30 PM to 11 PM on the traditional festival grounds Waidich Reichenbach.
Program — Children, Stage, Socializing
The festival is aimed at families and the local community: in the afternoon, the focus is on children's games, a bouncy castle, face painting, craft activities, and small performances. In the evening, the program shifts to cozy get-togethers with live music, dancing, a sausage stand, and a beer bar. The village associations — fire department, sports club, local history society — jointly organize the festival.
Reichenbach and the Hörsel Valley
Reichenbach is one of the approximately ten districts of the municipality of Hörselberg-Hainich in the Wartburgkreis. The municipality is located in the Hörsel Valley between Eisenach and Gotha — a gently rolling landscape at the foot of the legendary Großer Hörselberg (immortalized in Richard Wagner's "Tannhäuser"). To the northeast, the municipal area borders the Hainich National Park (UNESCO World Heritage "Ancient Beech Forests").
