In addition to its well-known harvest festival, Vollersode also maintains a vibrant shooting tradition. The local shooting club organizes its own festival annually, which, together with the parallel festivals in Axstedt and Steden, forms a shooting highlight of the Samtgemeinde Hambergen. The preservation of this tradition, despite the small population, is a testament to the active club life in the region.

Festival Parade and King Shooting

The program follows the proven structure of North German shooting festivals. The ceremonial opening is marked by the parade through the village, accompanied by music clubs. The sporting highlight is the bird shooting, where participants compete for the title of king. The subsequent proclamation and crowning of the new monarchs take place in the festival tent and are the emotional centerpiece of the weekend.

Festival Tent and Shooting Ball

Inside the festival tent, catering, live music, and dance events shape the atmosphere. Saturday evening is traditionally dedicated to the shooting ball.
