Hiking Event in the Swabian Danube Valley

The Donautal-Wandertrio is a new, four-day hiking format taking place for the first time in 2026. It arises from the merger of the districts of Dillingen and Günzburg in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria and succeeds the previous Donautal Hiking Days. Bächingen an der Brenz in the district of Dillingen is the seat of the organizing association, Dillinger Land e.V.

Over 40 Guided Tours

The Donautal-Wandertrio offers over 40 guided hikes and adventure tours covering the entire area between the Danube, the floodplain forest, and the Swabian Jura. The spectrum ranges from floodplain forest hikes, herb tours, geocaching along the Brenz river, llama treks, family yoga walks, and musical tours to communal evening hikes. This makes the event appealing to nature lovers, families, and active holidaymakers alike.

Bavarian Swabia's Largest Hiking Event

Even at its premiere, the Donautal-Wandertrio is considered the largest hiking event in Bavarian Swabia. It is a strong statement for hiking tourism in the region, combining active nature experiences with culinary stops and special encounters along the most beautiful routes of the two districts.

Participation and Region

Participation in the tours is largely free of charge, with donations requested for some; culinary stops are paid for on-site. Registration is required. The Danube Valley between the Danube, the floodplain forest, and the Jura is one of the most scenically attractive natural areas in Bavarian Swabia.
