From Saturday, December 5th to Sunday, December 6th, 2026 — on the second Advent weekend — the center of Ruppichteroth transforms into a festive fairy-tale world between the Protestant and Catholic churches.

Only wooden stalls — the charming standard

What makes the Döörper Weihnacht unique: Plastic pavilions and standard market stalls are expressly forbidden. Exhibitors must build their stalls from wooden huts — self-built, borrowed, or provided by the citizens' association. This regulation creates the iconic look of the market: over 80 individual wooden huts, decorated with fir branches, fairy lights, and handmade signs. No plastic, no convenience food — the market looks as a Christmas market should.
