20 Years of Funsport Meets Festival
The Dodgeball Beach Cup celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. What began as a regional Völkerball (dodgeball) tournament has become one of Germany's most unusual festivals: funsport, festival, and camping on a 75,000 m² airfield in the western Münsterland region. Event date 2026: August 6th to 9th.
Six Stages, Six Musical Worlds
The musical concept is deliberately eclectic – perhaps one of the broadest genre spectrums in the German festival landscape:
- ITM Mainstage – the main stage with headliners
- Electro Beast Stage – EDM and full-throttle electronic music
- Carnival – Cologne-style Karneval and Mallorca vibes
- Heisterborg Steueroase – alternative atmosphere with cult status
- Schirmbar – Reggae, Soul, and relaxed dance vibes
- HUBI Trance Circle 360° – immersive trance experience
This covers a wide spectrum from EDM, Hardstyle, Trance to Soul, Reggae, and Karneval music – a mix that is unique in Germany.
280 Dodgeball Teams in a Mega Tournament
The sporting centerpiece: 280 teams compete in a huge Dodgeball tournament – from hobby teams to ambitious crews. Around 3,500 players participate in the tournament. Games are played on numerous parallel courts, with their own league structure and finals over the festival weekend. Funsport means: fun is the priority, but the competitive spirit is real.
30,000 Visitors and On-site Camping
Organizers expect around 30,000 visitors in total. Most arrive with tents or campers and use the available camping area directly at the festival grounds. This makes the Dodgeball Beach Cup one of the largest camping festivals in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Stadtlohn-Vreden in the Westmünsterland
The festival location is situated between Stadtlohn and Vreden in the Borken district, in the Westmünsterland region near the Dutch border. The Stadtlohn-Vreden airfield is known as a sports and leisure airfield and, with its 75,000 m², offers ample space for stages, camping, courts, food trucks, and service areas.
A Festival with Its Own Vocabulary
Those who have been coming for a while know the terms: Schirmbar, Heisterborg Steueroase, HUBI Trance Circle – all unique stages with their own communities. The festival has built a loyal fan base over two decades, which returns every year. The 20th anniversary in 2026 will be celebrated in this tradition with a special program.

The anniversary edition promises an expanded program: longer festival opening hours, special guests on the ITM Mainstage, new food trucks, and special promotions to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Getting There
By car: A31 exit Stadtlohn or Vreden, then follow signs for the airfield. By public transport: Train to Stadtlohn, shuttle to the airfield. Camping and day parking available on the festival grounds.
Tickets
Tickets available via dodgeball-beachcup.de – Day tickets, weekend pass, team registration for Dodgeball, camping separate. Doors open August 6th; festival runs until August 9th.
Tip
For the full experience, book a weekend pass with camping. The Dodgeball tournament usually starts on Thursday/Friday – those who want to play should register their team in advance.
