5.7 kilometers of asphalt, 4,400 runners from 246 companies — and a summer festival with a live band at the end
The dm Company Run Homburg is a very special Saarland tradition. What started in 2013 as a small company run format has become one of the largest company runs in Southwest Germany today, with over 4,400 participants and 246 companies — and one of the few that regularly turns the city into a collective summer festival. Sports, city culture, and shared celebration merge into a Thursday evening that the entire region agrees to meet for in Homburg.
The start is on Talstraße, at 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM in two waves. The route covers 5.7 kilometers through Homburg's city center — past Saarbrücken Castle, through Eisenbahnstraße, across Christian-Weber-Platz, through residential areas, and back. It's a deliberately audience-friendly route: colleagues, families, and residents stand by the roadside, clap, cheer, and hold up signs.
The range of participating companies reflects the region's economic structure. The largest teams come from the Saarland University Hospital (823 runners), Bosch (332), and Festo (124). In addition, craft businesses, banks, schools, and administrations — a special award for crafts was newly introduced in 2026. It's not about individual best times, but about team performance and team spirit.
What makes the company run a cultural event is the After-Run Party: Immediately after crossing the finish line, Christian-Weber-Platz and the parking lot on Uhlandstraße transform into an open-air party zone. Bruise, the event's live band, provides the musical atmosphere — pop, rock, and cover classics that invite dancing. Add to this regional catering, the award ceremony for the fastest and largest teams, and the typical Saarland mix of sportsmanship and sociability.
Homburg is the district town of the Saarpfalz District, located in southeastern Saarland, with just under 42,000 inhabitants. The city is home to the Saarland University Hospital, Bosch, and Festo, and sees itself as the economic engine of eastern Saarland. With Saarbrücken Castle, Karlsberg Castle ruins, and the Schlossberg cave system, it is also a tourist attraction.
