A Showcase for Dithmarschen
The Dithmarschen-Tag was initiated by AktivRegion Dithmarschen to make the diversity of voluntary and institutional life in the district visible. Unlike purely city festivals or folk festivals (Volksfeste), it has a clear thematic focus: Associations, federations, initiatives, and educational institutions from the entire Dithmarschen district present their work — from Low German associations to shooting clubs (Schützenvereine), from voluntary rescue services to climate protection initiatives.
On Heide's Market Square
The venue was chosen with care: Heide is the district capital of Dithmarschen, and its market square — one of the largest undeveloped market squares in Germany — offers the ideal stage for such a major event. Around 550 m² of exhibition space in two tents, plus additional open space and a stage, will be set up for the day.
What You'll Find at the Dithmarschen-Tag

- Stage Program with live music, dance performances, speeches, and interviews

In the Dithmarschen District
Dithmarschen is an independent, traditional region on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein between the Eider and Elbe rivers — historically a "farmers' republic" with its own administration, today a district with around 130,000 inhabitants and a distinctive Low German-Frisian identity. The Dithmarschen-Tag serves as a builder of identity and a meeting point for a region proud of its diverse club life.
