Two Days of Festivities at the Brewery
The market festival starts on Saturday evening from 7:00 PM with the ceremonial tapping of the keg and a festive evening, featuring musical entertainment by a host music club. Bratwurst from a charcoal grill, Swabian specialties, and the Hirschbrauerei's festival beer are the culinary cornerstones.
Sunday with a Church Service
On Sunday, July 26, the festival day begins at 10:00 AM with the festival service, followed by a Frühschoppen (morning pint) and all-day festival activities. Several music clubs will take turns on the festival stage.

By car: A 96 Munich–Lindau, exit Mindelheim, then country road to Dirlewang. By train: Mindelheim station, then by bus or car to Dirlewang.

Market Festival in Bavarian Swabia
The Dirlewanger Marktfest is one of those traditional Swabian market festivals where brewery tradition, club music, and the market community merge into a compact event. The venue is the Hirschbrauerei Dirlewang – a historic private brewery that supplies the festival beer and opens its grounds as a festival site.
Dirlewang in the Unterallgäu
Dirlewang is a market town with around 1,700 inhabitants in the Unterallgäu district (Bavarian Swabia, Bavaria), not far from Mindelheim. The region is characterized by typical Swabian landscape – rolling hills, forests, meadows, and a dense network of clubs that support the market festival.
Music Clubs as Festival Supporters
As with many Swabian-Bavarian market festivals, the music clubs from the surrounding communities are a central part of the program. The Mattsies Music Club, the Dirlewang Music Club, and guest ensembles from the Unterallgäu provide the musical entertainment. This creates a special atmosphere: instead of anonymous cover bands, neighbors play for neighbors, making the social anchoring of the festival palpable.
