Summer Vibes in the Heart of the City

Delitzsch Beach(t) is one of Saxony's most unusual city events: From May 28 to June 14, 2026, GSVE Delitzsch e.V., together with the Delitzsch housing association, will transform the city's central market square into a beach volleyball venue. Around 600 tons of sand will be brought in, and three beach courts will be set up — right in front of the half-timbered houses and the baroque city church. The concept: bringing beach feeling and summer vibes to the center, with sports, music, and an accessible family program.

Three Tournaments — Companies, Educators, Masters

The 17 festival days are structured around three main tournaments: the Company Cup (teams from regional companies), the Educators' Cup (teachers' and educators' teams), and the Masters Tournament for women and men as the sporting highlight at the end of the festival. On weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., there is also a school tournament with classes from the region. Those who don't bring a team can enjoy free play on the courts at designated times.

Yoga, Summer Cinema, and Children's Activities

The program goes far beyond just volleyball. Yoga in the sand takes place in the morning and evening — at sunrise and sunset. A summer cinema on the market square shows films under the open sky. Children's activities are specifically aimed at kindergartens and families. In addition, food trucks, bars, and live music acts shape the festival grounds. The concept aims to appeal to as many generations as possible — from kindergarten children to seniors who simply want to experience summer in the city center.

Saxony, Nordsachsen District, and Delitzsch

Delitzsch — a large district town in the Nordsachsen district, located about 30 km north of Leipzig — is a historic city with a baroque castle and a well-preserved old town. The city has invested heavily in its cultural visibility in recent years; Delitzsch Beach(t) is one of the flagship events of this strategy. The organizers are the local sports club GSVE Delitzsch e.V. together with the municipal housing association — a classic public-private partnership for city animation.
