Summer Wine Festival of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Daisendorf in the Fruchtscheune by Lake Constance
The Daisendorfer Weinfest of the Volunteer Fire Brigade is a firm fixture in the summer event calendar of the Lake Constance community. Every year in mid-August, the FFW (Freiwillige Feuerwehr - Volunteer Fire Brigade) invites guests to the historic Fruchtscheune of Landhaus Bernhard for two evenings of wine and hospitality. The event is one of Daisendorf's most important summer events and also a benefit format — proceeds go directly towards the purchase of equipment and materials for the community's volunteer firefighting and rescue service.
Landhaus Bernhard is a traditional estate on the outskirts of Daisendorf. The associated Fruchtscheune — a historic agricultural building that was previously used for storing fruit, wine, and grain — now serves as an event space. The interior, with its massive wooden beams and rustic atmosphere, perfectly matches the character of the wine festival: regional, down-to-earth, with the charm of Lake Constance agriculture.
Daisendorf is located in the Lake Constance wine-growing region. The vineyards on the northern shore benefit from the mild Lake Constance climate — the lake acts as a gigantic heat reservoir, enabling the cultivation of high-quality grape varieties in one of Central Europe's northernmost classic wine-growing areas. The typical Lake Constance grape varieties — Müller-Thurgau, Spätburgunder, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, and Schwarzriesling — are served at the Daisendorfer Weinfest in fine drops from local vintners. Accompanied by Lake Constance specialties such as Felchen (whitefish), cheese from the Salem dairy, and Swabian delicacies.
With around 1,700 inhabitants, Daisendorf is one of the smaller communities on Lake Constance, located north of Meersburg in the Bodenseekreis (Baden-Württemberg, Linzgau region). Its location between vineyards, orchards, and forests makes Daisendorf a popular destination — and the Fire Brigade's wine festival is a wonderful opportunity to discover the quiet hinterland of Lake Constance away from the main tourist routes.
In mid-August 2026, the Volunteer Fire Brigade Daisendorf will once again open the historic Fruchtscheune of Landhaus Bernhard for its annual wine festival. On both evenings — Friday and Saturday — Lake Constance wines will be served, along with summer specialties such as bratwurst, steaks, Swabian delicacies, and Felchen from Lake Constance.
The Fruchtscheune, with its massive wooden beams, offers a sheltered yet airy atmosphere even on cooler summer evenings. Guests can sit at standing tables outside the building under the starry sky — typical Lake Constance summer ambiance.
