Concerts and cabaret in the unique show cave of the Franconian Switzerland
The Devil's Cave near Pottenstein in Franconian Switzerland, district of Bayreuth, Free State of Bavaria, is one of the largest show caves in Germany. For over 30 years, from May to September, it has been transformed into an extraordinary cultural stage: concerts, cabaret, puppet theatre, and children's programs take place against the impressive backdrop of stalactites and stalagmites at a constant temperature of 12 °C.
A highlight of the 2026 season is the concert by Manuel Feilner with his program "Rock'n'Roll is scheiße" (Caution: irony). Feilner is a singer-songwriter from the Hummelgau region who has been performing his handmade music for about ten years. His style blends influences from The Beatles, STS, and Wolfgang Ambros into a refreshingly diverse program – ranging from cheerful to socially critical, with songs like "Bacardi Cola" and "Die Fetten Jahre" (The Fat Years).
The "Culture in the Devil's Cave" series includes not only concerts but also cabaret evenings and puppet theatre. Evening events for adults usually start at 8:00 PM. The unique acoustics and mystical atmosphere of the cave make every performance a special experience.
