A CSD in Hamburg's Suburb
While the major Pride parades in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich make headlines, CSD Norderstedt has established itself as an important contribution to queer visibility in suburban and rural areas. With around 80,000 inhabitants, Norderstedt — in the Kreis Segeberg, directly on the Hamburg city border — is one of the largest cities in Schleswig-Holstein and thus a logical location for its own Pride event.
Motto 2026 — «queer@work»
Each year, the organizing team focuses on a specific theme. For 2026, it is «queer@work»: The question of acceptance and protection of queer people in the world of work. Discrimination in the workplace based on gender identity or sexual orientation is still a reality — the CSD aims to raise awareness and formulate concrete demands.
Program
- Demonstration starting from Rathausplatz
- Patron: Lord Mayor Katrin Schmieder will speak at the opening
- LSVD Schleswig-Holstein — Speeches by the state board members
- Moderation: Jonas Listing from the organizing team
- Live Music on the main stage
- Information booths from associations, initiatives, and counseling services
- Street Festival on Rathausplatz
The LSVD Demands
In the context of the CSD and the motto «queer@work», the LSVD formulates its political demands: queer topics in the school curriculum, strengthening workplace safety, representation of older LGBTQ+ people in politics. Demands that make the Norderstedt setting concrete and relatable.
Norderstedt in the Kreis Segeberg
Norderstedt is a modern, growing city in southern Kreis Segeberg, with its own subway connection to Hamburg's U1 line (terminus Norderstedt Mitte). The city has evolved from a collection of villages in the 1970s into one of the most dynamic urban developments in Northern Germany. The town hall with the adjacent Rathausplatz is the central venue for public events — and thus the setting for Norderstedt's CSD.
