Queer Parade and Street Festival at Rathausplatz — 2026 under the motto «queer@work»
While the major Pride parades in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich make headlines, CSD Norderstedt has established itself as an important contribution to queer visibility in suburban and rural areas. With around 80,000 inhabitants, Norderstedt — in the Kreis Segeberg, directly on the Hamburg city border — is one of the largest cities in Schleswig-Holstein and thus a logical location for its own Pride event.
Each year, the organizing team focuses on a specific theme. For 2026, it is «queer@work»: The question of acceptance and protection of queer people in the world of work. Discrimination in the workplace based on gender identity or sexual orientation is still a reality — the CSD aims to raise awareness and formulate concrete demands.
In the context of the CSD and the motto «queer@work», the LSVD formulates its political demands: queer topics in the school curriculum, strengthening workplace safety, representation of older LGBTQ+ people in politics. Demands that make the Norderstedt setting concrete and relatable.
Norderstedt is a modern, growing city in southern Kreis Segeberg, with its own subway connection to Hamburg's U1 line (terminus Norderstedt Mitte). The city has evolved from a collection of villages in the 1970s into one of the most dynamic urban developments in Northern Germany. The town hall with the adjacent Rathausplatz is the central venue for public events — and thus the setting for Norderstedt's CSD.
CSD Norderstedt 2026 is held under the motto «queer@work» — focusing on acceptance and protection of queer people in the workplace. The event begins at 1:00 PM at Norderstedt Town Hall (Rathaus Norderstedt), directly at the U1 subway station Norderstedt Mitte. Patron Lord Mayor Katrin Schmieder opens the demonstration with a speech.
The LSVD and the organizing team formulate demands related to the motto «queer@work» concerning queer topics in the school curriculum, protection against discrimination in the workplace, and visibility of older LGBTQ+ individuals.
Take the U1 subway line to Norderstedt Mitte — directly at Rathausplatz. By car, via the A7 (exit Quickborn) or A23. Parking around the town hall and in the surrounding park-and-ride areas.
