About CSD Berlin

Christopher Street Day Berlin (CSD / Berlin Pride) is one of Europe's largest Pride festivals with around 500,000 participants and the central highlight of Berlin Pride Month. In 2026, CSD will be celebrated over two days for the first time in its history: on Friday, July 24, 2026, with the "Democracy Night" at the Brandenburg Gate, and on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with the big demo parade from Leipziger Straße via Schöneberg back to the Brandenburg Gate. The motto for 2026 is "ATTITUDE IS HOT" and is a reaction to the 2026 Berlin state elections.

Pride with Political Impact

Christopher Street Day Berlin – often referred to as Berlin Pride – is the largest and most politically charged LGBTQIA+ demonstration in Germany. It has commemorated the Stonewall Uprising of June 28, 1969, in New York since 1979, combining a demonstration, parade, and festival into a multi-hour event through the heart of Berlin. The organizer is Berliner CSD e.V., and the weekend is part of Berlin Pride Month (June 26 to July 27, 2026).

CSD for the First Time Over Two Days

In 2026, Berlin CSD is taking a historic step: for the first time since its founding in 1979, CSD will be celebrated over two days. The occasion is the 2026 Berlin state elections. With the campaign "ATTITUDE IS HOT", Berliner CSD e.V. calls on civil society, businesses, and the city community to stand up against the backlash against LGBTQIA+ rights.

Parade Route

The demo parade on Saturday, July 25, 2026, starts at 12 p.m. at Leipziger Straße/Spittelmarkt in Berlin-Mitte, proceeds via Potsdamer Platz, Nollendorfplatz (the historic queer heart of Berlin in Schöneberg), and Klingelhöferstraße back to the Brandenburg Gate in Mitte. Around 80 trucks with stages will drive along the route, with hundreds of walking groups in between.

Pride Village at the Brandenburg Gate

The event culminates in the Pride Village on Pariser Platz in front of the Brandenburg Gate, featuring a stage, speeches, concerts, and political contributions. More than 500,000 participants are expected – making Berlin Pride one of the largest Pride events in Europe, alongside Munich, Cologne, Madrid, and Amsterdam.

Themes and Concerns

CSD 2026 focuses on the following themes:

  • Democracy and the 2026 Berlin state elections
  • Protection of trans, inter, and non-binary individuals
  • Media representation of queer realities
  • Violence prevention and solidarity with the queer BIPOC community
  • International solidarity (Russia, Hungary, USA)

CSD Berlin — edition 2026

In 2026, Christopher Street Day Berlin will be celebrated over two days for the first time. It kicks off with the "Democracy Night" on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6 PM to 11 PM at the Brandenburg Gate with three stages, music, artistic performances, and political contributions. The highlight is the demo parade on Saturday, July 25, 2026, starting at 12 PM from Leipziger Straße/Spittelmarkt via Potsdamer Platz, Nollendorfplatz, and Klingelhöferstraße back to the Brandenburg Gate. Around 500,000 participants are expected. Motto: "ATTITUDE IS HOT". Free admission.

First Two-Day Edition

Berlin Pride 2026 marks a historic break: for the first time since 1979, CSD will be celebrated over two consecutive days. With the motto "ATTITUDE IS HOT", Berliner CSD e.V. is responding to the 2026 Berlin state elections and the international wave of anti-queer politics.

Friday, July 24, 2026 — Democracy Night

On the eve, the Pride crowd gathers at the Brandenburg Gate. For the first time, three stages will be set up there, offering a dense program of music, performances, and political contributions from 6 PM to 11 PM.

Saturday, July 25, 2026 — Demo Parade

On Saturday, the big CSD demo starts at 12 PM at Leipziger Straße/Spittelmarkt. Over several hours, the demonstration procession with trucks, stages, and hundreds of walking groups winds through Berlin-Mitte and Schöneberg to the final rally at the Brandenburg Gate.
