Country Tradition in the Haßberge

The Countryfest Eichelsdorf is one of the most established country events in the Haßberge district of Lower Franconia. It is organized by the Verein zum Erhalt des Countryfest Eichelsdorf (Association for the Preservation of the Countryfest Eichelsdorf), which organizes the festival on a voluntary basis to keep the decades-long tradition alive. The venue is the festival grounds at the Schullandheim (youth hostel) in Eichelsdorf, a district of Hofheim, located on Haßbergstraße.

Two Days of Western Atmosphere

The festival traditionally takes place on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the marquee opens in the early evening, with live music starting around 7 p.m.; on Saturday, festival activities begin in the afternoon, and the bands play from the early evening. A large festival marquee provides protection from sun and rain, ensuring the event proceeds regardless of the weather.

Bands, Line Dancing, and US Cars

The stage features recurring stars of the scene such as the Four Roses Countryband and Country Company, as well as guest acts like Tom Rascal and The Lakeland Cowboys. Between concerts, line dancing groups showcase their skills, and lovingly maintained US cars and trucks are parked in front. Visitors are welcome to come in western attire — Stetsons, boots, and fringe jackets are gladly seen.

Food and Atmosphere

The association members themselves handle the catering, offering hearty grilled dishes, cool drinks, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Table reservations for groups are possible via the association's website. Despite free admission, the festival relies on on-site consumption for funding — this is how the non-profit association finances its activities.
