About Rosentage Königsberg

In the historic castle courtyard of Königsberg in Bavaria (Haßberge district, Lower Franconia), the »Königsberger Rosentage« hosts one of the most beautiful garden festivals in Lower Franconia every June. Renowned rose breeders, tree and perennial nurseries from German-speaking countries, plus craftspeople and gourmet stalls, all nestled among old chestnut trees and medieval castle walls. The event will run on June 20 and 21, 2026, under a new organizer (ARCOS / Gartenkönig), after the former »Rosenmesse Königsberg« was taken over and renamed in this form.

Königsberg Castle — Baroque Setting for a Garden Festival

Königsberg Castle is situated on a prominent ridge above the town of Königsberg in Bavaria, a small town of 3,700 inhabitants in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge (State of Bavaria). The castle was built in the 14th century and today houses event rooms and an idyllic castle garden — chestnut trees, sandstone walls, wide lawns. It is precisely this setting that makes the Rosentage one of the most distinctive garden festivals in Northern Bavaria.

From »Rosenmesse« to »Rosentage«

Until 2024/2025, the event was held under the name »Rosenmesse Königsberg«. In 2026, it will run under the new name »Königsberger Rosentage« with new organization by ARCOS GmbH / Gartenkönig. The thematic focus remains: a high-quality garden festival for rose enthusiasts and garden lovers, not an ordinary plant market.

What's on Offer

  • Rose Breeders: well-known German and Austrian rose cultures with historical varieties and new breeds
  • Tree and Perennial Nurseries: variety of plants for gardens, balconies, and terraces
  • Crafts: garden and home accessories, sculptures, pottery
  • Gourmet Stalls: regional specialties from Lower Franconia (wines, honey, jam, ice cream)
  • Workshops and Advice: rose care, grafting, pruning
  • Castle Courtyard Atmosphere: old chestnut trees, historic sandstone walls, view over the Haßberge

Königsberg in Bavaria — Perfect Starting Point

Königsberg in Bavaria is a remarkably well-preserved Franconian small town with half-timbered houses, the Gothic St. Mary's Church, and its medieval town wall. Visitors to the Rosentage often combine the garden festival with a stroll through the old town or a hike in the surrounding Haßberge hills.
