Annual Country and Linedance gathering in the Festhalle Birkesdorf — Live bands and workshops
The notion that Country music and Linedance are typical phenomena of the US Southern states is too simplistic: In Germany, a surprisingly active scene has developed since the 1990s, organizing Country concerts, Linedance gatherings, and multi-day festivals. The Country & Linedance Festival Düren at Festhalle Birkesdorf is one of the established formats of this scene in the Rhineland — attracting dancers, bands, and fans from all over North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, and the Netherlands.
The festival's profile is clear: Live Country music spanning from Honky Tonk classics and Country Rock to contemporary Modern Country, combined with Linedance workshops for all levels and open dancing throughout the festival. The typical program structure:
From the well-known 2025 edition: Jamy Sheene (one of the most important female voices in the German Country scene), Jaimy Taylor, Duo Poppyfield, and Free Bears. The 2026 line-up is not yet public at the time of research but is expected to feature similarly established acts. Those familiar with the scene know the drill — the festival has a stable roster of bands that return regularly.
Behind the festival is FHP Events, an agency specializing in Country and Linedance events. The managing director can be reached directly (0174 7976352, [email protected]) — typical for the volunteer-driven Country world, where organizers themselves dance with the dancers.
The Festhalle Birkesdorf is located in the Düren district of Birkesdorf, one of the rural outskirts of the district town in the Rhineland. The hall is a classic community hall with a dance floor, stage, and catering — an ideal venue for Country festivals of this size (several hundred visitors). Easy arrival by car, parking available at the venue.
The city of Düren lies between Aachen and Cologne on the edge of the Eifel region and is the seat of the district of the same name. In the Country context, Düren is surprisingly prominent — its excellent transport links (A4 motorway) and central location between the Rhine and Maas rivers make Festhalle Birkesdorf a natural meeting point for the northwestern German Country scene.
The 2026 edition is expected to continue the format of previous years. Bands and the exact date will be communicated by the organizer in advance. Camping and table reservations are possible with the organizer.
