The Benedictine Abbey of Metten in the Lower Bavarian market town of Metten – in the district of Deggendorf in the state of Bavaria – has existed for over 1,250 years. The monks once settled on the northern bank of the Danube; the abbey continues to shape the region culturally to this day. Metten is located on the northern bank of the Danube near Deggendorf. By car via the A3/A92 (Deggendorf area) and country roads to Metten. By train to Deggendorf and then by bus.
