Wine, music, and late summer in the walls of Burg Blomendal
There are nicer places for a glass of wine than a castle — but not many. The BurgWeinFest makes exactly that possible: For a late summer weekend, the courtyard of Burg Blomendal in Bremen-Blumenthal becomes an open wine garden. From August 28 to 30, 2026, the festival invites you to linger daily from 3 p.m., until 11 p.m. on Sunday — with free admission and in the impressive setting of the historic moated castle.
The focus is on selected wines from various German growing regions. To accompany them, there's down-to-earth food for your hunger: hearty bratwurst, crispy fries, and small bites that pair well with wine. The band Jester's Mind from Lemwerder provides the musical accompaniment with a mix of rock, pop, blues, and soul. Over three days, this creates a relaxed late summer atmosphere between wine tasting, live music, and the cozy castle courtyard.
The BurgWeinFest is a recurring festival and firmly anchored in the event calendar of Bremen-Nord. It attracts wine lovers, neighbors, and day-trippers alike and combines enjoyment with the special atmosphere of a historic site — a piece of lived cultural work around the castle.
The venue is Burg Blomendal on Auestraße in the Blumenthal district, one of Bremen's northernmost quarters. The medieval moated castle is a landmark of the district and gives the wine festival its unmistakable setting.
