Joint club festival in the castle hall and on the castle forecourt
The Burgfest Parsberg takes place annually in June at Parsberg Castle, a high medieval hilltop castle that shapes the cityscape of the Upper Palatinate market town of Parsberg in the Neumarkt district. The venues are the historic castle hall and the castle forecourt, both directly adjacent to the former residence of the Lords of Parsberg. Several local clubs are the organizers of the festival, working together under one roof.
Characteristic of the Burgfest is its broad base of clubs: the Parsberg Women's Association, the Haug von Parsberg Marksmen's Club, the Libertys Country Club, and the Parsberg Traditional Costume Club share the organization. Thus, the festival reflects a piece of Upper Palatinate club culture, where religious women's work, marksmen's tradition, country lifestyle, and traditional costume customs coexist peacefully.
Parsberg Castle has towered over the market town since the 13th century and today houses, among other things, the Castle Museum and various event spaces. It is a central point of identification for the town and makes the Burgfest an event with a special ambiance – right in the middle of history, club life, and Upper Palatinate coziness.
The Burgfest Parsberg 2026 will be jointly organized on the weekend of June 13th to 14th by four clubs. The festival starts on Saturday at 6 PM, and on Sunday, the castle opens at 10 AM. Admission is free.
The program includes catering with hot and cold dishes, drinks, and coffee & cake in the castle hall and on the castle forecourt. The Women's Association, the Haug von Parsberg Marksmen's Club, the Libertys Country Club, and the Parsberg Traditional Costume Club are jointly organizing the festival weekend – a classic Upper Palatinate club festival in a special setting.
