Waldbühne Schwarzenberg — edition 2026
Five Open-Air Highlights
Over three weeks, five major concerts are spread across the Waldbühne Schwarzenberg. The opening act is Roland Kaiser with his open-air program – one of Germany's most popular schlager stars. In August, a concentration of tribute and crossover concerts follows: Queen with MerQury and the Erzgebirgsphilharmonie, Depeche Mode tribute Forced To Mode, an 80s/90s dance show with Alex Christensen, and a double concert by Münchener Freiheit and Markus.

Open-Air Concerts in the Ore Mountains
The Waldbühne Schwarzenberg is one of the traditional open-air venues in the Ore Mountains. Every summer, a series of concerts graces the stage under the open sky – with a programmatic mix of schlager, classical crossover, tribute bands, and pop. The natural acoustics in the semi-circular stage area and the atmosphere on the wooded slopes make the concerts experiences that clearly differ from classic indoor concerts.
Schwarzenberg, Erzgebirgskreis
Schwarzenberg is located in the Erzgebirgskreis (AGS 14521), in the state of Saxony, on the edge of the Ore Mountains/Vogtland Nature Park. The small town with its distinctive castle and historic old town is nestled in a characteristic low mountain landscape that attracts hikers and cultural travelers annually.
Tradition and Diversity
The range of concerts is intentionally broad: Schlager stars like Roland Kaiser, Münchener Freiheit, or Markus, classical crossover with the Erzgebirgsphilharmonie, tribute bands for Queen or Depeche Mode, plus DJ concerts with large orchestras. Thus, the concert summer appeals to both regular audiences from the region and travelers who come for a single concert.
