About Stelzenberger Kerwe
The Kerwe Stelzenberg is the annual Kirchweih (church consecration festival) of the Palatinate village of Stelzenberg in the Kaiserslautern district. On August 15th and 16th, 2026, the Kerwe will be celebrated at the Bürgerhaus Stelzenberg – a two-day festival dedicated to the community spirit.
Stelzenberg in the Pfälzerwald
Stelzenberg is located in the Pfälzerwald, south of Kaiserslautern, in the Kaiserslautern-Süd collective municipality. With around 800 inhabitants, Stelzenberg is one of the smaller municipalities in the district. Its location between forests and meadows makes it a popular hiking area and gives the Kerwe its special, tranquil atmosphere.
Opening on Saturday at 5 PM
The official opening of the Kerwe at the Bürgerhaus will take place on Saturday at 5 PM. The tapping of the first keg, initial catering, and the start of the evening festivities set the scene. Afterwards, there will be a dance evening or a relaxed festival atmosphere – in a small community like Stelzenberg, the evening festivities and social club gathering blend together.
Frühschoppen on Sunday at 10 AM
Sunday begins with the Frühschoppen (morning pint) from 10 AM. With brass music or a small dance band, a first beer from the tap, and a Palatinate breakfast, the village comes together. The Frühschoppen is an important element of the Palatinate Kerwe tradition and is particularly well-attended in Stelzenberg.
Family Afternoon
Sunday afternoon focuses on the family program: coffee and cake from the club kitchens, face painting for children, small interactive games, and a relaxed atmosphere at the Bürgerhaus. Palatinate classics like Saumagen (stuffed pig's stomach), Bratwurst (fried sausage), and Schwenkbraten (grilled pork neck) complement the culinary offerings.
Identity of the Small Community
For Stelzenberg, the Kerwe is one of the most important dates in the annual calendar. It strengthens club life, promotes community cohesion, and brings former residents back to their homeland in the Pfälzerwald for a weekend.

Stelzenberg is located in the Kaiserslautern district, in the Pfälzerwald south of the city. Take the K3 from Kaiserslautern. Limited parking is available on the outskirts of the village.
