About Straßenweinfest Buchbrunn
Straßenweinfest Buchbrunn — edition 2026
The 31st edition of the Buchbrunner Straßenweinfest takes place from July 25th to 27th, 2026. The wine village of Buchbrunn on the Main transforms into an open festival mile for three days.
The opening on Saturday will be by the Buchbrunn Wine Princess Selina I., who will announce the festival motto "Hot Stone" — a nod to the warm Franconian summer weather at the end of July and the festive energy in the alleys.
Over the three festival days, the stalls of the Buchbrunn vintners are spread throughout the alleys and courtyards. Taste the current vintages of the Buchbrunn varieties — Silvaner (in the traditional Bocksbeutel bottle), Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Scheurebe, and various Burgundy varieties.
Franconian specialties from the grill — bratwurst, charcuterie boards with cheese and sausage, homemade baked goods — accompany the wines.

Buchbrunner Straßenweinfest — Wine, Alleys, and Sunshine
The street wine festival in Buchbrunn is a prime example of the Franconian street wine festival tradition: the vintners set up their stalls in the narrow alleys and courtyards of the wine village, visitors stroll from one vintner to the next, tasting different wines and discovering the historic architecture of the place along the way. Three days of festival atmosphere in a Franconian wine village — relaxed, friendly, culinarily deeply rooted.
Buchbrunn — Wine Village on the Main in the Kitzingen District
Buchbrunn is located in the Kitzingen district in Lower Franconia (Bavaria), directly on the Main river between Kitzingen and Sulzfeld. With around 800 inhabitants, Buchbrunn is one of the smaller Franconian wine villages; it is precisely this manageable size that makes the street wine festival an intimate and friendly event — people know each other, the wine is of high quality, the atmosphere is intimate.
31st Edition — Wine Princess Selina I.
In 2026, the 31st edition of the street wine festival will be celebrated. Wine Princess Selina I. represents the Buchbrunn wine village and calls for the festival opening. Wine royalty — the Wine Princess and, if applicable, the Wine Queen — are part of Franconian wine culture: they represent the place and its wine at festivals, trade fairs, and tourist events.
Buchbrunn Wine and Franconian Varieties
The Buchbrunn vintners cultivate classic Franconian grape varieties: Silvaner as the leading variety (typically dry-mineralic in the Bocksbeutel bottle), Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Scheurebe, as well as various Burgundy varieties such as Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, and Spätburgunder. The vineyards around Buchbrunn — Maintal-Süden — offer good conditions for mineral-driven wines.
Motto 2026 — "Hot Stone"
The official opening message from the Buchbrunn Wine Princess plays with the motto "Hot Stone" in reference to the festival weather. With the solar energy of the hot summer days at the end of July, they want to capture the festival atmosphere perfectly — "With sunshine by day, as I like it, we celebrate at the 'Hot Stone', so it shall be!" reads the official festival message call.
Food and Atmosphere
Accompanying the wine tastings, Franconian specialties are served — grilled bratwurst, charcuterie boards with Franconian cheese, ham, and sausage, salads, and homemade baked goods. The atmosphere in the Buchbrunn alleys is familial: tables and benches on the street, sitting together, conversations between vintners and guests. Free admission to the entire festival area.
