The biggest beach party of the Bremen summer on the Weser
You don't have to travel to the sea to experience a real beach party atmosphere in Bremen: The Lankenauer Höft, a spit of land directly on the Weser in Bremen's west, becomes the city's largest open-air beach club once a summer. At Bremen Tanzt Open Air, you dance barefoot in the sand, with a view of the wide river and the sunset over the water, until late into the night. Anyone looking for a summer evening with a holiday feeling in the Bremen region without leaving the city will find themselves in the right place here.
The musical concept focuses on diversity across three stages: The Open Format stage features Urban and Charthits, the Latin stage offers Caribbean and South American rhythms, and the Electro stage ranges from Tech House to Deep Vibes. This ensures that every musical taste finds its place, and the party keeps moving well past midnight.
The Lankenauer Höft is a true Bremen place of longing. Once, the village of Lankenau stood here, first mentioned in documents as early as the 13th century—an agriculturally dominated village where many dockworkers later lived and which even had a nationally known campsite from the 1950s onwards. With the construction of the Neustädter Hafen (New Town Harbour) in the early 1960s, Lankenau was razed to the ground; the excursion restaurant of the same name on the spit remained for a long time the last remnant of the vanished village. After the lease expired at the end of 2016, the Höft lay fallow for almost five years before being reopened as a versatile event location with a beach, gastronomy, playground, and stage.
Precisely this location directly on the water, away from the city center yet in the heart of Bremen, makes Bremen Tanzt Open Air one of the Hanseatic city's most popular summer events. Those who want to start the evening in style can reserve a table in advance at the restaurant directly at the Lankenauer Höft with a view of the Weser before heading to the dance floor in the sand. Admission begins at 6 PM, and the event is for ages 18 and up. In case of bad weather, the party moves to the covered indoor area of the Lankenauer Höft, ensuring the evening proceeds regardless of the weather.
