Practical information — Bremen Olé
Getting There
The Bürgerweide is located directly behind Bremen's main train station and is reachable on foot in a few minutes. Tram and bus lines stop at the main train station. Parking spaces in the city center are limited – traveling by train or public transport is recommended.
Tickets
Advance sales are through Eventim. There are regular tickets as well as VIP packages with an exclusive bar area, cocktail bar, and stage-side seating. A box office opens on the day of the event from midday.
Mallorca Atmosphere in the Middle of Bremen
When the Bürgerweide becomes Bremen's biggest Schlager party in midsummer, Bremen Olé is on the scene. On the traditional festival grounds between the main train station and the Bürgerpark in the Findorff district, an open-air bash takes place that brings the lifestyle of Mallorca's Schinkenstraße directly to the Weser. For over ten hours, usually from midday until late evening, performance follows performance – with the next star taking the stage approximately every 45 minutes.
Who's Playing
The lineup reads like the who's who of German party Schlager. In past editions, artists such as Mia Julia, Julian Sommer, Lorenz Büffel, Isi Glück, Calvin Kleinen, Mickie Krause, Anna-Maria Zimmermann, and Oli P. have performed on stage. Host Frenzy and DJ Christian Schall guide through the program and keep the mood high between sets. Bremen Olé is part of the supra-regional Olé Party Tour, which stops in several German cities – the Bremen edition is the fixed summer date for the party Schlager scene of the Northwest. Singing along is not only allowed but mandatory.
The Bürgerweide — Bremen's Festival Meadow for Centuries
Hardly any other place is as closely associated with Bremen's festival events as the Bürgerweide. According to tradition, Countess Emma of Lesum is said to have granted this area to the citizens for cattle grazing in the Middle Ages; until the 19th century, it actually served as freely usable communal pastureland. Since 1934, the Bremer Freimarkt has taken place here – one of the oldest funfairs in Germany, whose origins date back to 1035 and which, with around 1.5 million visitors over seventeen days, is one of the largest Volksfeste (traditional folk festivals) in Northern Germany. The Osterwiese (Easter Meadow) and large open-air concerts are also part of this venue's program.
Hanseatic Folk Festival with Ballermann Character
For several years now, Bremen Olé has added its own touch to this historic festival site in the state of Bremen: exuberant, colorful, and uncomplicated. Anyone who likes Schlager, summer, and good cheer will get their money's worth here. Tickets are available in advance via Eventim, and VIP packages with a private bar area and stage-side seating are also offered.
