8th edition of the street food event in the courtyard of the Blautopfschule — food trucks, live bands, and DJs for four days
bissFEST is one of the most relaxed street food events in the Ulm/Alb-Donau-Kreis region. Instead of a meticulously choreographed mega-event, the team focuses on a manageable, family-friendly atmosphere in the courtyard of the Blautopfschule — right in the heart of Blaubeuren, just a few steps from the legendary Blautopf spring. The eighth edition in 2026 runs from Thursday to Sunday and combines food trucks, a cocktail bar, live music, and DJ sets.
The food program emphasizes variety: classic food truck fare (burgers, pulled pork, BBQ), international specialties (tacos, Asian, pizza), sweets (ice cream, crêpes, donuts), as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The specific trucks will be announced each spring — over the years, regular trucks from the region and newcomers with unique concepts have alternated. Additionally, there's a bar serving cocktails, beer, and a selection of regional wines.
The musical backbone of bissFEST is Mike Angelowsky — a solo artist on acoustic guitar, providing a relaxed sound every midday throughout the four days. In the evenings, DJs (DJ Czok, DJ Gabriel Creole) and live bands like Ricky Vicente (Latin/Acoustic) and Rebeldes Mind (Rock Covers) take over. The mix of a warm, acoustic daytime program and a party-ready evening vibe is part of the bissFEST DNA.
Blaubeuren is located 15 km west of Ulm in the Alb-Donau district and is primarily known for its Blautopf — a deep blue karst spring that has attracted tourists for generations. With the former monastery, the medieval town center, and the UNESCO World Heritage site 'Caves and Ice Age Art of the Swabian Jura' in close proximity (Hohle Fels, Geißenklösterle), bissFEST is an excellent occasion for a weekend getaway at the edge of the Swabian Jura.
The 2026 program follows the established choreography of previous editions: a relaxed acoustic midday program with Mike Angelowsky, followed by an evening buildup with DJs (Thursday and Friday) and a live band on Saturday. Sunday is classically the quietest day — family-oriented, brunch-like atmosphere, closing early at 6 PM.
The lineup of food trucks will be finalized in spring 2026. The event is co-organized by an organizing team that works closely with the city of Blaubeuren and the Blautopfschule.
Free admission. Food and drinks at the trucks and bar at typical festival prices — main dishes €8–€14, beer from €4, cocktails €8–€10.
