About Bietigheim Volksfest
Bietigheim Volksfest — edition 2026
Festival Weekend August 1st–3rd, 2026
On the first weekend of August, the Bietigheim Festhalle opens for the 75th Volksfest. Three festival days from Saturday to Monday will feature live music in the Festhalle, a small funfair with rides, a traditional flea market on the festival grounds, and catering by around 20 Bietigheim clubs.
For decades, the Musikverein Bietigheim e.V. has been a co-organizer. The musical program follows the proven tradition: brass music from local and friendly music clubs, cover and dance bands, and a family brunch on Sunday. The festival is one of the oldest local Volksfest traditions in the Middle Baden region — annually since 1949 without interruption on the first weekend of August.

75th Bietigheimer Volksfest — Tradition since 1949
The Bietigheimer Volksfest is one of the oldest village Volksfests in the Rastatt district and has celebrated its festival date annually since 1949 on the first weekend of August. From Saturday, August 1st to Monday, August 3rd, 2026, the Festhalle Bietigheim in the central Baden municipality of Bietigheim (to be distinguished from Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart!) will open its doors for the 75th edition. For decades, the Musikverein Bietigheim e.V. has been a co-organizer, musically shaping the program.
20 Clubs, One Shared Festival
Around 20 clubs and communities from Bietigheim — from the music club to the fire department and sports club to the rural youth — participate in the organization and catering. This club-supported structure is typical for village Volksfests in Baden: catering is not outsourced to external festival hosts but is a joint project of the village clubs. This creates a completely different atmosphere than at large commercial Volksfests — more familial, personal, and community-oriented.
Festhalle, Funfair, and Flea Market
At its heart is the Festhalle with live music (traditionally brass music from local and friendly music clubs, as well as cover and dance bands) and generous catering at beer bench sets. Outside, there is a small funfair with rides and carousels for children. A traditional flea market also takes place on the festival grounds — an additional attraction on the festival weekend.
Bietigheim in the Middle Murg Valley
Bietigheim is a municipality of 6,200 inhabitants in the Rastatt district, in the middle Murg Valley between Rastatt, Gaggenau, and Baden-Baden. The municipality is located in the northern Upper Rhine Plain at the transition to the Northern Black Forest — a rural-central Baden structure with active club life. The Volksfest on the first weekend of August has been the undisputed highlight of the Bietigheim annual calendar since 1949 and one of the must-attend events for residents and guests from the Murg Valley.
