Tip
Come on Friday (less crowded than Saturday), start with lighter beers (Helles, Pils) and work your way up to IPAs and Stouts — a sensible order will preserve your palate. Plan for water breaks. The Rheingold industrial site is also worth seeing: workshops and manufacturers are partially open.
Craft Beer in the Ruhr Area
Duisburg has a long brewing tradition — and since 2025, its own Beer Festival, positioning the city on the Rhine as a hotspot for craft beer in the Ruhr area. The 2nd edition takes place from Friday, April 24th to Saturday, April 25th, 2026 — again in the Handwerkerhof Wanheimerort, the historic site of the former Rheingold Brewery.
When and Where is the Festival?
- Dates: Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th, 2026
- Time: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on both days
- Location: Handwerkerhof Wanheimerort, Düsseldorfer Straße 387, 47055 Duisburg (postal address Duisburg-Wanheimerort)

Over 20 Breweries — High-Quality Craft Beer
More than 20 local and international breweries will present their beers at the festival. The range includes:
- Classic German Styles: Pils, Helles, Weizen, Kölsch, Altbier
- Craft Beer Classics: IPA, NEIPA, Pale Ale, Stout, Porter
- Specialties: Sour beers (Berliner Weisse, Gose, Lambic), Barrel-Aged, Imperial Stouts
- Non-Alcoholic Alternatives: non-alcoholic craft beers and lemonades from local manufacturers
The admission includes a tasting glass, which you can use at all stalls.
Street Food, Cocktails, and Wine
Several food trucks will offer accompaniments to the beer: burgers, pulled pork, bratwurst, vegan bowls, vegetarian wraps, fries, sweets. Cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks are also available — not beer purism, but an open festival.
Token System and Card Payment
The festival operates with a token system: €1 and €2 coins are purchased separately and accepted at all stalls. Additionally, the stalls accept card payments. Water stations are distributed free of charge.

The Handwerkerhof Wanheimerort
The Handwerkerhof Wanheimerort is a historic industrial area of the former Rheingold Brewery in southern Duisburg. Today, it houses workshops, manufacturers, studios, and event spaces — and is the ideal setting for a beer festival: brewing history, industrial charm, and a weatherproof hall.
Duisburg — Industrial Culture on the Rhine
Duisburg, with over 500,000 inhabitants, is one of the largest cities in the Ruhr area, located on the Rhine and at the mouth of the Ruhr. It is known for the largest inland port in Europe, the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, and the MSV Duisburg. The Beer Festival fits the culture specific to the Ruhr area: industrial, rustic, and convivial.
