Berlin's Spring Volksfest Kick-off

The Berliner Frühlingsfest is Berlin's major spring Volksfest (traditional funfair) and the season opener for the classic Berlin showman series (Frühlingsfest → Steglitzer Woche → Deutsch-Amerikanisches Volksfest → Berliner Oktoberfest). The venue is the Zentraler Festplatz on Kurt-Schumacher-Damm in the Reinickendorf district, a large paved area used year-round for folk festivals, circuses, and open-air events.

Around 85 Showman Businesses

The Frühlingsfest brings together around 85 showman businesses annually, making it one of Berlin's largest folk festivals. The program includes classics and adrenaline highlights:

  • Around the World XXL – 80-meter chain carousel with panoramic views
  • Mission Impossible Tower – 80-meter free-fall tower
  • Wilde Maus and Rock & Roller Coaster – classic roller coasters
  • Ferris wheel with views over Berlin
  • Haunted house, bumper cars, children's carousels
  • Classic game stalls: shooting gallery, throwing games, archery
  • Snack stands with Bratwurst, fries, almonds, crepes, candied almonds, and Schmalzkuchen (traditional doughnuts)
  • Beer garden with a selection of German breweries

Fireworks Twice Per Season

Highlights include two fireworks displays, usually set off on a Wednesday or Saturday evening around 10 PM during the season. Dates are announced at the start of the season.

With around 250,000 visitors over the season, the Frühlingsfest is a typical Berlin family Volksfest and also a meeting point for showmen from all over northern Germany.
