Edition 2025 — Poesiefestival Berlin
The Poesiefestival Berlin 2025 continued the annual tradition since 2000. For three to four weeks, the Haus für Poesie made the German capital the hub of the international poetry scene. The Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg remained the central venue, with readings, workshops, and performances also taking place across several Berlin districts and stages.
As in previous years, the opening event Weltklang – Nacht der Poesie kicked off the festival with around ten international poets reading in their original languages, simultaneously translated into German. The multi-day translation workshops formed the intensive core of the festival: poets from several countries transposed texts into German together.
In addition, poetry talks, urban space readings, performative formats, workshops, and discussion evenings shaped the program. The Haus für Poesie remained the organizer, also maintaining the online archive lyrikline.org. With this edition, the festival once again confirmed its status as one of Europe's largest poetry festivals.
