One of Germany's longest-running Kizomba festivals
Kizomba, Semba, and Urban Kiz are partner dances from the Lusophone world (Angola, Cape Verde, Portugal) that have built a loyal scene in Europe since the 2000s. Berlin is now one of the most important European hubs for this dance culture, and the Berlin Kizzes Festival is its annual highlight. For seven years, the festival has been consistently held at the Kulturbrauerei, with short distances between workshop rooms, dance floors, and food trucks.
The tenth edition runs from July 23rd to 27th, 2026. During the day, workshops with internationally booked instructors – traditionally stars from the Angolan, Portuguese, and French scenes. In the evenings, parties on two dance floors (Kesselhaus, Maschinenhaus) with DJs from several countries, live acts, and social dance rooms until the early morning hours. The official instructor and DJ list for 2026 will be published successively on berlin-kizzes.com.
Festival pass from €69, with individually bookable workshops and party-only tickets available. The organizers provide information on hotel partners, travel, and public transport. The festival is alcohol-tolerant but community-oriented – etiquette, consent, and a friendly tone are part of the scene.
The Kulturbrauerei is a former brewery complex from the 19th century in Prenzlauer Berg, now a cultural and event complex with several venues – Kesselhaus, Maschinenhaus, cinema, Soda Club. U2 Eberswalder Straße station right at the entrance. Berlin, State of Berlin.
Format as in previous years: during the day, workshops with internationally booked instructors for Kizomba, Semba, and Urban Kiz at various levels (Beginner to Advanced); in the evening, social dance parties with an international DJ lineup and live acts. The final instructor and DJ list, as well as the detailed workshop schedule, will be published successively on berlin-kizzes.com.
