A Festival That Brings Folk Back into Play

The Berlin Folk Festival is a new Berlin festival brand, launching with its premiere edition on Saturday, March 14, 2026: an indoor festival inspired by Woodstock and the West Coast folk tradition, held at the legendary Festsaal Kreuzberg on the Spree. The organizers and program are clearly rooted in the international indie-folk and psych-garage scene.

Two Stages, 17 Acts, Nine Hours of Music

From 3 PM to midnight, 17 acts will perform on two stages. The headliner is Drugdealer, the LA project by Michael Collins; also featured are The Mystery Lights, Joan Shelley, Suzan Köcher's Suprafon, Triptides, Sam Blasucci, Floral Image, André Ethier, Yves B. Golden, June Carousel, and other names from the international folk, psych, and garage scene. DJs will spin vinyl during the aftershow.

Festsaal Kreuzberg

The Festsaal Kreuzberg at Flutgraben, situated between Kreuzberg and Treptow directly on the Spree, is one of Berlin's largest indoor clubs and has become a prime venue for mid-level indie, folk, and psych tours over the years. With two stages, it suits the festival's ambition to curate a day program that is more than just an extended club night.

Solidarity and Atmosphere

Two euros from every ticket sold go to “Give Something Back To Berlin”, an initiative offering free workshops for migrants, refugees, and Berlin residents. Collaborative art stations and photo booths will be set up within the Festsaal itself to create the atmosphere of a day festival: less rigidly scheduled than a classic concert, more of a hangout between sets. Food trucks will complement the culinary offerings.
