Equestrian Sport with Tradition in the Bergisches Land
For over 25 years, the Bergisch Classics have been the sporting summer highlight for the Hebborner Hof Riding Club (Reiterverein Hebborner Hof e.V.). At the traditional Hebborner Hof — right on the border between Bergisch Gladbach and Odenthal — dressage and show jumping riders from all over Germany and neighboring countries gather. The tournament is open to the public: free admission, grassy areas with views of the arenas, and a cozy atmosphere.
Two Weekends in 2026
In 2026, the Bergisch Classics will be spread over two separate weekends:
- Dressage: Friday, August 7 – Sunday, August 9, 2026
- Show Jumping: Thursday, August 13 – Sunday, August 16, 2026
Over 1,700 horses, more than 700 competitors, and over 2,000 starting places are expected in the various competitions.
Dressage Weekend — Elegance and Precision
The dressage weekend begins on Friday with lower-level classes, progressing through Saturday and Sunday to the demanding S** and Grand Prix levels. Competitions run parallel in two arenas, and spectators can move freely between them.
Show Jumping Weekend — Four Days of Jumping Sport
The show jumping tournament runs from Thursday to Sunday and includes all classes from E (Beginner) to S** with jump-offs. The highlights are usually the Grand Prix on Sunday and the Medium Tour on Saturday evening under floodlights.
CDU Summer Festival Between the Weekends
Between the dressage and show jumping weekends, the local CDU party traditionally holds its CDU Summer Festival on the grounds — a social gathering that complements the sporting event well.
Tradition You Can Touch
What sets the Bergisch Classics apart is the blend of international level and a family-friendly atmosphere. Families picnic at the edge of the arenas, club members grill at the festival tent, and small stands offering equestrian supplies, snacks, and drinks are set up around the grounds. The Hebborner Hof Riding Club celebrates the tournament as 'Tradition you can touch'.
Hebborner Hof Venue
Hebborner Hof is located on Hebborner Straße in the north of Bergisch Gladbach, directly on the border with the municipality of Odenthal. The facility features several dressage and show jumping arenas, indoor riding halls, a warm-up arena, and ample stable space for guest horses. The board is led by Matthias Beggerow (1st Chairman), Gundel Reinhardt (Management), and Peter Lautz (2nd Chairman).
