From SEA&SAND to BEATS&WAVES
BEATS&WAVES is the new name from 2026 for the electronic beach festival in Kühlungsborn, previously known as SEA&SAND. The venue remains the Event Beach in Kühlungsborn-West, directly on the water. With the rebranding, the focus shifts more strongly to the international DJ scene and the mix of daytime program with beach vibes and evening sets with headliners.
Program
During the day, relaxed sets play on the beach: beach club atmosphere, House and Pop sets. In the evening, headliner DJs take over the Event Beach with electronic sets. The festival runs for three days — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Headliners 2026
The first edition as BEATS&WAVES features two of the most successful German acts from the streaming charts: David Puentez and Topic. Both have hundreds of millions of streams, gold certifications, and have remixed international stars like Post Malone, Tiësto, and Rita Ora.
Local Context
Kühlungsborn is located in the Rostock district and, with over three kilometers of beach promenade, is Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's largest Baltic Sea resort. The Event Beach is Kühlungsborn's summer venue for special events — from beach parties to DJ festivals.
BEATS&WAVES — edition 2026
From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the BEATS&WAVES Festival kicks off on Kühlungsborn's Event Beach — the first edition under the new name, succeeding the former SEA&SAND festival. Headlining on Friday, July 31, is David Puentez, and on Saturday, August 1, it's Topic. During the day, relaxed House and Pop sets in a beach club atmosphere alternate with the driving beats of the evening program. For three days, the Event Beach in Kühlungsborn-West transforms into an open-air dance floor right by the water.
