Bayreuth Summertime is the major summer event series in the city of Bayreuth in Bavaria. For more than three months, from June to August, over 100 individual events shape the city's cultural life. The programme is deliberately broad: it ranges from pop and rock concerts to classical chamber music, theatre, film, readings, and comedy.

Stages Throughout the City

What makes Bayreuth Summertime special is the variety of venues. Concerts take place in the historic Margravial Opera House, Villa Wahnfried, or the Steingraeber-Hoftheater, while the open-air Seebühne becomes the venue for evening performances. Many events are held outdoors, making summer in Bayreuth an experience for locals and visitors alike.

Bayreuth is world-famous as a festival city. While the Bayreuth Festival on the Grüner Hügel attracts international attention, Bayreuth Summertime forms the accessible, broad cultural counterpart for a large audience.
