The St. Wendel Farmers', Craftsmen's, and Winegrowers' Market takes place once a year at the end of May and is one of the most popular market events in the St. Wendel region. Around 90 direct marketers, craftsmen, and winegrowers offer fresh regional products in the pedestrian zone of the district town — a densely woven cross-section of regional food and craft culture.

More Than a Market

What makes the St. Wendel Farmers' Market special is its supporting program: Historical agricultural machinery and tractors from the vintage car enthusiasts of Dörrenbach are exhibited in the town. Demonstrations of traditional crafts such as hat making, wool spinning, and coffee roasting bring history and the present together. For children, there is pony riding, rope braiding, and felting. Hunting horns provide musical accents in between.

The historic old town of St. Wendel — the district capital of the district of the same name — is the perfect backdrop: the late Gothic St. Wendelin Basilica in the background, cobblestone streets, cafés, and restaurants along the pedestrian zone.
