Basskontakt — Underground Culture in Potsdam since 2015

Basskontakt e.V. is a non-profit association based in Potsdam, promoting art and culture in the state capital since 2015. Focus: electronic music, open-airs, and cultural events in public spaces. The association has earned a reputation for its values: a non-violent space, a progressive stance, a clear rejection of racism, sexism, and homophobia. This also applies to the free open-airs: everything is free, everyone is welcome, but the value framework is non-negotiable.

May 1st, 2026 — Spring Awakening in Nuthepark

On Friday, May 1st, 2026, Basskontakt invites you to the big May 1st Free Open Air in Potsdam's Nuthepark. From 4 PM to 10 PM, four DJs from the association and its circle will play:

Admission is free. Nuthepark is a green corridor in the south of Potsdam, stretching along the river Nuthe — easily accessible by tram and bus, and one of the city's most popular local recreation areas.

Festival Funding Potsdam 2026 — A Summer Full of Free Open-Airs

Basskontakt e.V. is once again receiving funds from the festival funding program of the state capital Potsdam in 2026 — a funding pool that financially supports non-commercial festivals and cultural events. With the 2026 funding, the association plans a series of free open-airs spread throughout the summer: from May 1st until late September, with various dates at changing locations — Nuthepark, freiLand, and other open-air sites in the city. Basskontakt will announce the exact dates on basskontakt.com and its social media channels.

Nuthepark — Potsdam's Green Spring Stage

Nuthepark extends in the southern Potsdam city area along the river Nuthe, which flows into the Havel here. With meadows, groves of trees, and walking paths, it is a local recreation area, but at the same time, it is also a stage for cultural events. The atmosphere of a free open-air in Nuthepark is familiar — a mixed audience, picnic blankets, sound at a moderate level that resonates with the surroundings.
