Town Festival in the Kneipp Spa Town

Bad Wörishofen is one of Germany's most renowned Kneipp spa towns. In the 19th century, the priest and hydrotherapist Sebastian Kneipp worked here, shaping a unique therapeutic tradition with his five pillars – water, plants, movement, nutrition, and lifestyle balance. The town's appearance is accordingly characterized by arcades, the spa park, Kneipp facilities, and spa clinics.

Town Festival and Spa Calendar

The town festival is a highlight in the summer event calendar, following the Bad Wörishofen Summer Concerts (July 11 to 19, 2026). It thus fits into a series of summer events that offer variety to spa visitors while also attracting day-trippers from the Unterallgäu region and all of Swabia.

Spa Park as Festival Ground

The venues for the town festival are the spa park – with its winding paths, Kneipp facilities, and concert pavilion – and the town center of Bad Wörishofen with its extensive pedestrian zone. The connection between the park and the city center creates a continuous festival mile. Stages are spread across several locations; local gastronomy and clubs offer food and drinks.

Family Program and Tradition

The town festival does not have the same popular character as a classic Bavarian Volksfest (folk festival) with a beer tent – the spa park setting gives the event a calmer, spa-garden-like atmosphere. Classic program elements include: live music in the concert pavilion, regional specialties, activities for children, and hands-on stands from clubs and the spa administration.

Bad Wörishofen is located in the Unterallgäu district (Bavarian Swabia, AGS 09778), nestled in the gentle pre-Alpine landscape. With around 16,500 inhabitants, it is a small town, yet through its function as a spa town, it welcomes over half a million overnight guests annually.
