ASC Summer Festival — The Heidelberg Club Family

On the first weekend of July 2026 — July 4th and 5th — ASC Neuenheim e.V. invites you to its annual summer festival on the ASC Campus in Heidelberg's Neuenheim district. The ASC Summer Festival is not a mass tourist event, but a classic club festival — the annual social gathering of club members, their families, friends, and sympathizers from the Neuenheim neighborhood and surrounding Heidelberg districts.

Rolf-Rehm Tournament — The Sporting Highlight

The sporting centerpiece of the festival is the Rolf-Rehm Tournament — a sports tournament named after a deceased club member or coach, which annually cherishes the tradition and memory of its namesake. The exact sport may vary between tennis, hockey, football, or general sports — ASC is a multi-sport club that traditionally offers tennis, hockey, and general sports activities. The tournament is open to ASC members and invited guests; it is played in several matches, and the winner receives the challenge cup.

Craft Corner, Goal Wall Shooting, and Family Program

For children and younger families, the summer festival offers:

• Craft Corner — Craft activities with seasonal materials, supervised by club members
• Goal Wall Shooting — The classic of German club festivals, with prizes and awards
• Children's Sports Stations — Bouncy castle, small sports equipment, guided games
• Ice cream and cold drinks for the hot summer hours

Honors and Farewells

A deliberately included program item is the honors and farewells. Deserving club members with long membership (10, 25, 40 years or more) are honored, and long-serving board members stepping down are officially bid farewell. These moments are the emotional heart of the festival — they make the club's identity visible and remind us of the human dimension of club work.

Evening Club Celebration

In the evening, the club celebration takes place — with catering by the ASC kitchen (grilled steak, salads, beer from a regional brewery, wine from the Palatinate or Baden), music from a DJ or a live band, and a lively atmosphere until late into the night. The summer festival is one of the main occasions for club members to meet and socialize outside of their actual sports activities.

ASC Neuenheim — Heidelberg Tradition Club

ASC Neuenheim e.V. is one of Heidelberg's most traditional sports clubs, focusing on tennis, hockey, and general sports. The ASC Campus in the Neuenheim district offers tennis courts, an artificial turf hockey field, a sports hall, and a clubhouse. The club has several hundred members of all age groups — from children in the tennis or hockey school to seniors active in recreational sports. The annual summer festival is a signature event of the club.

Heidelberg-Neuenheim — The Green North

The Neuenheim district is located in the north of Heidelberg, opposite the Old Town on the right bank of the Neckar River. Until 1903, Neuenheim was an independent municipality, then incorporated into Heidelberg. Today, Neuenheim is a quiet residential district characterized by villas and garden architecture — academics, university staff, and families live here. The Neuenheimer Feld campus of Heidelberg University, with its natural science faculties, is located west of Neuenheim. The ASC Campus is part of the district's sports facilities.
