Underground Spectrum
Since its inception, the ART Musik Festival has established itself as a meeting point for lovers of unusual rock music. The musical spectrum ranges from Stoner Rock and Progressive to Doom Jazz and Post-Rock, as well as Blues Rock and psychedelic Prog. 15 international and national acts perform over four days.
Location Change 2026
The festival has previously taken place at the Bad Doberan racecourse. For the 2026 edition, the organizers are moving the concerts to the M.A.U. Club Rostock on the Warnow riverbank (Warnowufer 56, 18057 Rostock) – the reason being a lack of permits for the open-air format at the original venue. However, camper van pitches and camping will remain available at the Bad Doberan racecourse; a shuttle service will connect both locations.
Line-up 2026
On stage will be, among others, t aka DR. THOMAS THIELEN, STINKING LIZAVETA (Philadelphia Power Trio), LAZAR, GAGAMAN, THOUGHTS, Glasgow Coma Scale, Michael Dühnfort, Phalanx, Baron Crâne, JPH, WELCOME INSIDE THE BRAIN, Confusion Master, and the Dionysos Wizdom Theater. A reading by music journalist Frank Schäfer will round off the program on Saturday.
Regional Context
Bad Doberan is located in the Rostock district (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), and the M.A.U. Club Rostock is in the old town harbour of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. The ART Musik Festival thus combines the rural camping experience with the urban concert venue on the Warnow river – a format that showcases the cultural diversity of the region between the Baltic Sea and Münster.
ART Musik Festival — edition 2026
The ART Musik Festival 2026 will take place from Thursday, July 2, to Sunday, July 5, 2026. Due to a lack of permits at the open-air location, the organizers are moving the concerts to the M.A.U. Club Rostock on the Warnow riverbank; camping and camper van pitches will remain available at the Bad Doberan racecourse. A shuttle service will connect both locations.
The program includes 15 acts over four days: Thursday with GAGAMAN, PHALANX, and headliner t aka DR. THOMAS THIELEN; Friday with WELCOME INSIDE THE BRAIN, JPH, CONFUSION MASTER, and THOUGHTS at midnight; Saturday with a reading by Frank Schäfer, LAZAR, MICHAEL DÜHNFORT, GLASGOW COMA SCALE, STINKING LIZAVETA, and BARON CRÂNE. The festival's style ranges between Stoner Rock, Progressive, Doom-Jazz, Blues Rock, Post-Rock, and psychedelic Prog.

Getting There
By train to Rostock Hbf (for the M.A.U. Club) or Bad Doberan station (for camping). By car via the A20, exit Bad Doberan or Rostock-Süd. Shuttle service between the campsite and the M.A.U. Club during the festival.
