Angerfest Lonzig

One Village, One Green, One Festival

Lonzig is a small district of the Gutenborn municipality in the very south of the Burgenlandkreis, where Saxony-Anhalt borders Saxony and Thuringia. For two decades, the Angerfest has been the highlight of the summer here – a festival organized by the local club and the village community itself, without major sponsors or a commercial program. That's exactly what makes it charming.

You'll experience what many seek in big cities and can no longer find: returning locals meet at the bratwurst stand, the fire department runs the bar, the marching band plays a set, and in the evening, people dance on the village green. During the day, the square belongs to the children – bouncy castle, games, carousel. Lonzig is scenically located in the transitional area between the Saale-Unstrut wine region and the White Elster – a remote but charming corner of Saxony-Anhalt.
