Five days of festivities in the historic Rococo city
The Altstadtfest is one of the highlights of the event year in Ansbach, the former residence city of the Margraves and present-day district capital of Middle Franconia. For five days, the historic old town transforms into a continuous festival mile β the unique backdrop of historic buildings, picturesque alleys, and charming courtyards provides the setting.
At 21 venues β including Montgelasplatz, Kaspar-Hauser-Platz, Reitbahn, Fermoplatz, and Martin-Luther-Platz β live music can be heard on several stages. In addition, there is street art, theater performances, a beer premiere, a children's program, and after-show parties in venues such as Speckdrumm, Ansbacher Kammerspiele, or Alte Resi. The open shopping Sunday additionally attracts visitors to stroll through the city center.
The culinary offerings range from Franconian specialties to international cuisine. Amidst the Margravial architecture, Rococo ambiance, and festive hustle and bustle, a relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere emerges, attracting guests from the entire region.
