Five-day club festival of TSV Altheim with Father's Day keg tapping and agricultural machinery show
The Altheim Festival Days are the most important club festival in the municipality of Altheim (Alb) in the Alb-Donau district (state of Baden-Württemberg). The 52nd edition will be held in 2026 – a remarkable tradition that shows how deeply the festival culture is embedded in the rural Swabian Jura foothills. The organizer is TSV Altheim/Alb e.V., the local sports club, which manages the festival together with numerous supporting clubs and families.
The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a lively party band concert in the marquee. Both young and older audiences will get their money's worth here.
The central day of the festival. On the traditional Father's Day, the keg tapping takes place – the official tapping of the first keg by the mayor or the TSV board. The Altheimer Musikanten will play, and in the evening, the band Volxxliga will perform with party music. During the day, groups of men with handcarts and on tractors flock to Altheim – a classic Swabian-Alemannic Father's Day ritual.
Varied musical program with regional brass bands and party bands. Long marquee evenings, dancing, and catering.
A special highlight: the large exhibition of agricultural machinery. Tractors, combine harvesters, hay turners, and modern agricultural technology will be presented – a magnet for farmers from the Alb-Donau district and a family magnet for children who love to climb on the big machines.
The marquee is catered by TSV Altheim/Alb themselves. Classic Swabian festival cuisine defines the culinary offerings:
The municipality of Altheim (Alb) (~1,300 inhabitants) is located in the Alb-Donau district in the Swabian Jura foothills, about 30 km west of Ulm. Its rural location shapes community life: active clubs, intact village structure, agricultural structures. The Altheim Festival Days are the only major festival of the year and fill the village with life and guests from surrounding communities on the five festival days.
From May 13th to 17th, 2026, TSV Altheim/Alb will open its 52nd Festival Days in the marquee An der Markt. The opening on Wednesday evening, May 13th, will feature a concert with a party band. On Thursday, May 14th (Ascension Day/Father's Day), the traditional keg tapping will take place – accompanied musically by the Altheimer Musikanten, followed in the evening by the party band Volxxliga. During the day, Father's Day groups flock to the village with handcarts and on tractors – a Swabian Father's Day ritual. Friday and Saturday continue the marquee evenings with regional brass bands and party bands. On Sunday, May 17th, the large exhibition of agricultural machinery will attract farmers and families from the entire Alb-Donau district.
